Understanding Residency Restrictions in Colorado
Colorado has no statewide laws restricting where convicted sex offenders may live, with one exception: individuals currently under criminal justice supervision (parolees or probationers) may face restrictions imposed by their supervision terms.
However, many municipalities and counties have implemented their own residency limitations. These local ordinances typically prohibit offenders from residing within 1,000 feet of schools, parks, daycare facilities, churches, or libraries.
Compliance depends on which city or county you reside in — always check local municipal codes for specific restrictions in your area.
