The Colorado Department of Corrections Division of Adult Parole supports the successful reintegration of individuals returning to communities while upholding public safety. The division operates 19 parole offices statewide, offering evidence-based supervision, case management, and community support programs. Services include the RESTORE program, Behavioral Health Transition Plans, State ID Program, Interstate Compact Transitions, employment and education assistance, and the Client Choice Treatment Provider Program.

Colorado Community Re-Entry Specialists logo

Colorado Community Re-Entry Specialists (CRES)

Community Re-Entry Specialists provide integrated case management and support services throughout the state to assist with removing barriers that interfere with a successful transition from prison to the community. Services include stabilization assistance for housing, transportation, clothing, personal hygiene, backpacks, work tools, employment training, and job placement. CRES conduct initial assessments to determine the appropriate level of transition assistance and use cognitive-based interventions to enhance motivation and reinforce positive behavior.

Doing HIS Time — 72 Hour Fund

Started in 2004, the 72 Hour Fund provides recently released individuals essential services to assist their successful transition back into Colorado society. Services include clothes, shoes and work boots, bus tokens, backpacks with hygiene items, ID document assistance, job opportunities, and transportation assistance with RTD ride tickets and limited monthly bus passes. The program helps approximately 150–160 people per month, and since 2016, nearly 10,000 individuals have come through the 72 Hour Fund.
